Sick FIFA 22 Players Price-Fix Mason Greenwood Amid Social Media Allegations

Sick FIFA 22 Players Price-Fix Mason Greenwood Amid Social Media Allegations

Manchester United have confirmed Mason Greenwood will not train or play in matches "until further notice".

Sick FIFA 22 players have price-fixed Mason Greenwood's Ultimate Team card after a series of social media allegations were made.

On Sunday morning, a woman took to Instagram to post a number of photos, a video and an audio recording alleging that she had been assaulted by Greenwood.

In response, Manchester United initially said they were “aware of images and allegations circulating on social media" but announced they had suspended the forward "until further notice" in a second statement published.

The content was removed from the woman's Instagram but had already been widely circulated across social media.

And shockingly, some FIFA Ultimate Team players have cashed in on the real-life events in regards to Greenwood's card.

His average price on the popular game mode has risen by 300% since the allegations were made.

Twitter user @iamkoshiek shared a graphic of the monumental price increase.

Meanwhile, YouTuber The Master Bucks elected to delete a FIFA 22 series he made that revolved around Greenwood.

But the price-fixing amongst the FIFA community has been an alarmingly regular occurrence in recent years.

It's happened before with a plethora of tragic football-related deaths, including Junior Malanda, Davide Astori and Emiliano Sala as gamers set prices higher to try and make more coins.

In some instances EA Sports have temporarily reduced the max prices on the late players and even removed them from the game altogether.

Benjamin Mendy's card nearly doubled in price after the Manchester City defender was charged with rape and EA removed him all game modes while awaiting trial.

On Sunday afternoon, after allegations came to light, Greater Manchester Police confirmed a man, who is in his 20s, has been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault and remains in custody for questioning.

A police spokesperson said: “Greater Manchester Police was made aware earlier today (Sunday 30 January) of online social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence.

“An investigation was launched and following enquiries we can confirm a man in his 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault.

“He remains in custody for questioning. Enquiries are ongoing."
