Lucas Verissimo's wife slams the Brazil star's FIFA 23 character: 'I didn't marry an ugly man!'

Amanda Verissimo has voiced her anger at how her husband appears in the game.

Brazil international Lucas Verissimo's wife Amanda has slammed FIFA 23 for making her husband look "ugly" in the new game.

She took to Twitter on Tuesday to voice her anger over the game's depiction of the Benfica defender.

Posting images of the 27-year-old as he appears in the game, she wrote: "What ugly thing is that? I didn't marry an ugly man for sure."

Verissimo has received backing from others on social media who were as equally perplexed by the defender's appearance.

"For the love of God I don't know whether to cry or laugh with the Lucas Verissimo I'm seeing on FIFA 23," wrote one fan on Twitter.

"He looks nothing like Lucas."

While another added: "There's no way that can be Lucas."

Benfica defender Verissimo joined the Portuguese club from Brazilian side Santos in January of last year.

A full Brazil international, he made his debut for his county in a World Cup qualifier against Peru in 2021.

Verissimo is not the only footballer whose FIFA 23 character has attracted criticism for being poorly designed.

Arsenal supporters are unhappy with how a number of their squad look in the new game.

One fan took to Twitter to post images of Mikel Arteta, Gabriel, Ben White and Emile Smith-Rowe's characters, alongside the caption: "Hey @EASPORTSFIFA is there a particular reason why Arsenal's players and manager look so inaccurate in your new game?

"Are you not allowed to use their likenesses or something? Genuinely curious. Feel free to DM."

To which another fan replied: "I…am at a compete loss for words. The disrespect," followed by the crying-laughing emoji.

It is not just the appearance of the game that has angered fans, with others voicing their concerns about its gameplay

Fans believe that crossing is massively overpowered – leading to claims the game is "broken" because of how easy it is to score goals from wide positions.

One fan tweeted: "Wtf are these crosses everyone is going to use this tactic."

While another added: "Yeah I'm not even bothering this year."
