Football fans on Twitter have been debating the most overrated Premier League players with some top names being mentioned in this massive online debate that's currently ongoing.

Many football fans like to debate which players are overrated, normally to stick it to rival fans. And on Twitter it's currently the exact same with many fans on Twitter debating the topic, mostly regarding players on rival teams.

Some of the players in these lists include: Harry Maguire, Leroy Sane, Sadio Mane, and James Maddison.

However, the majority of the Twitter profiles are fans of rival teams, hence why no statistics are next to these players so they aren't quickly proved wrong.

One tweet in particular was quite baffling, naming Bernd Leno, Sane, Marcus Rashford, and Fred as the most overrated players in the Premier League. The Twitter handle which includes LFC and has a photo of Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp as his profile photo couldn't be any more wrong if he tried.

Arsenal's Goalkeeper, Leno, has been in the top five for Goalkeepers in the Premier League in saves, penalties saved, high claims, and punches. The German also has the third highest save percentage in the league.

With Leroy Sane missing the whole season due to injury nullifies his entrance into the conversation and the Manchester Unite duo have been anything else besides overrated.

Rashford has scored the seventh most goals in the Premier League (14), while only having the 14th most shots in the League (65). A better ratio than any Liverpool forward, Son Heung-Min and Richarlison. He only trails Sergio Aguero, Jamie Vardy, and Danny Ings in this metric.

Fans on Twitter also called out the likes of Jordan Henderson, Anthony Martial and Dele Alli, among others.

The problem with this argument that fans on Twitter are just naming rival players rather than actually using statistics to get their point across.

It's light-hearted fun between rivals though which we definitely support.
