It sounds like the start of a joke. Except it did, in fact, actually happen - as Burnley boss Dyche explained during a radio interview on Monday morning.

Dyer was on talkSPORT when he called up Dyche and asked the all-important question: "We once had a random journey in the back of a cab. Can you remember what I asked you to do? Because I can't, because I was off me nut."

It turns out the taxi was actually a static, parked cab that was part of a wedding reception the pair both happened to attend So naturally the Eastenders actor demanded Dyche give him a team talk in it.

"It's a true story," said Dyche. "At a mutual friend's wedding they had a static cab. You went in the back and did a video for the bride and groom.

"Danny and the fella whose wedding it was, they asked me to do a team talk. So I did a team talk in the back of a cab in someone's garden to a video screen.

"I believe the bride and groom have still got the video and have a laugh about it. And yes, he [Dyer] was off of his nut, without a shadow of a doubt!"

To make matters even stranger, Dyche went on to explain that Serge Pizzorno - Leicester fan, Soccer AM regular and lead guitarist for rock band Kasabian - was also in the back of the cab with them.

No idea whether the gravelly Dyche gave Dyer and Pizzorno his version of the hairdryer or whether he strategically explained each man's zonal marking duties. But it's clear the Clarets manager hasn't forgotten his taxi-based team talk.

"That's a random event in my life," said Dyche, who let's not forget once confessed to eating worms.

"You know that feeling when you wake up the next morning and you go, 'Did that actually happen? Was that a real event in my life?'

"Trust me, I wasn't sure if that really happened, sitting in the back of a cab with Serge and Danny Dyer doing a team talk to a video screen.

"So that was a random moment in my life."
