Atletico MadridAtletico Madrid and Liverpool played out a memorable Champions League encounter at the Wanda Metropolitano, which the Reds edged with a hard-fought 3-2 win.
Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita gave Liverpool a 2-0 lead, but Antoine Griezmann's brace put the cat among the pigeons to bring the score back to 2-2. Salah struck again from the spot to make the final score 3-2. Atletico were then controversially denied a penalty of their own, as VAR intervened to persuade the referee to overturn his decision to penalise Jota for a foul on Jose Maria Gimenez.

The scenes at full-time saw Diego Simeone race down the tunnel, with many believing it had been a deliberate snub of Jurgen Klopp. The German was pictured hilariously waiting for his counterpart with his thumb up, as this crazy game came to a close.
But any claims that Simeone deliberately snubbed Klopp were refuted, with it being reported that the Argentinian coach runs off down the tunnel after every game - regardless of the result.
Such pleasantries will not matter too much to Klopp anyway, as his team have maximum points from three Champions League games to leave them top of Group B.
They are now within touching distances of qualifying for the last 16 with two group fixtures to go.
