It's been revealed Manchester City's Benjamin Mendy broke Covid rules for a second time, when he flew a girl from Greece to his home in Cheshire.

Mendy reportedly broke pandemic regulations in December by hosting a new year's eve party with people outside of his bubble.

However it's now been reported that the 26-year-old left-back also flouted the rules in the summer, when he flew Claudia Marino from Athens to Britain in late June for what The Sun are inevitably describing as a "four-day romp".

The Government had ordered UK arrivals from June 6 to self-isolate for two weeks. But, according to the newspaper, Mendy told the 22-year-old that she could simply stay at his house, adding: "It's ok they don't gonna check."

Claudia flew back in early July and reportedly received a message from Mendy telling her to delete an Instagram video that showed her inside his house.

The pair met online, as many people have done during lockdown. However it seems they could not keep it there.

Quoted in The Sun, Claudia Marino said: "I'm not naive and I know what footballers are like but I thought it would be an experience.

"He was single so I wasn't hurting anybody. We had some drinks and had a laugh. One day he took me to Leeds where he saw his dentist."

Wild times. Mendy has apologised for his new year's eve gathering, one which allegedly involved him asking an agency for "big bum Latina" women to be sent to his house.

Manchester City announced a formal investigation would be held into the events. However manager Pep Guardiola defended his player in the aftermath.

"Of course it was not correct but don't judge him too much," Guardiola said, according to The Guardian. "Many people have done the same on New Year's Eve and it's very easy to judge."

However he added: "They have to take the same responsibility as anyone else in the UK and the world and follow the rules."
