Vissel Kobe and Yokohama FM stunningly missed nine penalties in a row during the Japanese Super Cup final this morning.

The final at the NISSAN Stadium finished 3-3 after extra time and a penalty shootout followed.

Both sides netted their first two penalties each but what followed was nine misses in a row on the way to Vissel's 3-2 shootout victory.

Check out the shootout in all it's glory below.

Thiago Martins and Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta both dispatched their penalties with quality to kick it off.

Takahiro Ogihara and Junya Tanaka also net for the score to be 2-2 before all the drama unfolded.

Edigar Junio went to the left hand side but saw his spot kick turned onto the post by Hiroki Iikura.

Keijiro Ogawa had the chance to give Vissel the advantage but his strike cannoned back off the post.

Kota Mizunuma produced probably the worst of the lot as the 29-year-old balloons his strike over the bar.

Daigo Nishi then had his shot saved while four of the next five were saved by each side's respective keeper.

However, Horatu Yamaguchi stepped up following a Keita Endo miss to seal victory.

The Japanese international coolly placed his penalty in the top right corner to end the shootout at 3-2 and crown Vissel 2020 Japanese Super Cup winners.

Both sides had played out an entertaining draw before the drama of the shootout.

Former Barcelona defender Douglas put Vissel ahead just before the half-hour mark before Marcos Junior leveled the tie less than ten minutes later.

Kyogo Furuhashi netted to restore 'Ushi's' lead just before half-time.

Takahiro Ogihara equalised quickly following the restart before Yamaguchi put Vissel back in front for a third time.

However, Erik Lima scored a third equaliser for Yokohama to take the game to penalties.

Despite the thrilling victory, we doubt that Vissel's players will be interested in watching the shootout again.

What do you think is the worst penalty shootout of all time?
