Someone Recreated Liverpool's Current Team In FIFA 14 And It Shows How Much Has Changed

It's a testament to Jurgen Klopp how much these players have improved.

Someone has recreated a Liverpool starting XI on FIFA 14 and it shows just how much things have changed in six years.

In goal we of course have Alisson Becker, who at the time was an unknown 21-year old goalkeeper playing for Internacional in his native Brazil. He was rated 63-rated - considerably lower than his huge 90 rating on this year's installment.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold not even having left school yet and subsequently, Fabinho, rated 67, is the right-back in the side.

Remarkably Joel Matip, then playing for Schalke, is five ratings better off than UEFA Men's Best Player and FIFA 20 cover star Virgil van Dijk, while a 20-year old Andy Robertson was rated just 61 at left-back.

In midfield, captain and future FIFA 16 cover star Jordan Henderson was rated 75, Gini Wijnaldum was a 78-rated midfielder and James Milner, who was winning his second Premier League title with Manchester City, was 81-rated like he seemingly has been most years on FIFA games.

Then up top, the deadly front three of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have an average rating of 73 - with the Reds' No.9 the highest-ranked out of the trio.

That team would have been nowhere near five-star rating on FIFA 14 and very much a work in progress on career mode. But fast forward a few years down the line and the same side, now with much higher scores on EA Sports' franchise game, are the reigning European champions.

Funny how things change, isn't it?

The Reds are just two wins away from becoming Premier League champions for the first time in their history.

Should the season resume following the coronavirus outbreak, you have to assume that them picking up the title is a formality.
