Manchester United fans have lambasted Paul Pogba after the Frenchman said he was 'out of breath' when fouling Hector Bellerin for Arsenal's winning penalty.

United fell to a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal after Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang's second half spot kick.

Bellerin advanced into the box with the ball and Pogba clipped him from behind, getting nowhere near the ball in the process.

Referee Mike Dean pointed to the spot immediately, leaving Pogba to clutch his head in his hands.

Replays showed the penalty was justified, before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stepped up to bury the spot kick.

Post-match, the World Cup winner spoke to BBC per utdreport and stated: "I gave away a foul like this and cost us the goal today - I am not the best defensively in the box and I can improve on that and do better.

"We know it's a poor performance. Myself, I cannot give a foul away like this - I thought I would touch the ball but I didn't. [I] cost us the goal today with the penalty."

United fans are furious with the way Pogba dived in on so rashly.

One fan wrote: "And still people argue he's world class.....world class is consistently good, something this prat has never been."

Another United supporter ever wrote one Twitter: "Get that useless player out."

United are still floundering in 15th place in the league.

Another United fan even suggested that Pogba wouldn't get into Everton's first XI.

"Pogba is proper sh*t. He wouldn't even get into the Everton side," the tweet said.

This United supporter crudely wrote: "He's a f***ing disgrace. The club will never challenge for anything whilst he and ole remains at the club."

United still haven't won at home this season in the Premier League, having lost to Crystal Palace and Tottenham, and drawing to Chelsea too.

United take on Everton in their next Premier League game, a match would could further dent their hopes of finishing in the top four so early in the season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side thrashed RB Leipzig 5-0 in the Champions League earlier this week.

But they'll be disappointed not to have capitalised on their good work this evening.
