Crying Son Heung-Min Consoled By Foden, Gundogan And De Bruyne After Carabao Cup Final

A tearful Son Heung-min was classily consoled by Manchester City stars Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne after Tottenham's defeat in the Carabao Cup final.

There were 8,000 fans at Wembley to watch City largely dominate the game. But Spurs clung on until the 80th minute when Aymeric Laporte rose to head in De Bruyne's free-kick for the game's only goal on Sunday.

Cue Spurs heartbreak, particularly for Son who couldn't contain his emotions at the final whistle. However several of the City players sportingly broke away from their celebrations to talk to the South Korean forward.

While Son was still on his knees and crying, Gundogan arrived and was clearly giving him a personal pep talk on the pitch. Foden also arrived to pat Son on the back and chime in with his own sympathies.

Soon after, John Stones and De Bruyne were shown commiserating with Son - with the Belgian midfielder giving him a hug and a lengthy chat, which the Spurs player clearly appreciated.

Sheer class. While Manchester City should have been celebrating their first honour of the season, many of their players clearly spared a thought for one of their opponents taking defeat hard.

It was, remarkably, a fourth League Cup win in a row for Pep Guardiola's side.

However while many Spurs players have performed brilliantly for the team in recent years - particularly Harry Kane and Son - they are still waiting for a major honour with the club.

That hit Son hard on Sunday, but at least City's players showed plenty of grace in victory.
