Manchester United midfielder Fred and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp have found common ground this week - with both men thinking a journalist looks like infamous drug dealer Pablo Escobar.

Fred Caldeira of Esporte Interativo spoke to Fred following United's 5-0 win over RB Leipzig on Wednesday and the midfielder had a comment for his moustache.

A press officer says to Fred: "Someone said he looks like Escobar," before the 27-year-old smiles and rubs his upper lip.

Caldeira shared the footage to social media and joked about being compared to Escobar, but it wasn't the first time it's happened.

He was at Anfield on Tuesday night as Liverpool secured a 2-0 win over FC Midtjylland and Klopp had one thing to say.

"Wow! Who is it, what's the movie about the Colombian drug dealer?" before being told about Escobar.

"A little bit yes! [Laughs] I've heard some things about moustaches but no we don't need to worry about that."

It's easy to see why both men immediately jumped to Escobar though.

On the pitch, it was arguably United who secured the best result of matchweek 2.

Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and a Marcus Rashford hat-trick secured the win for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, with Fred snatching possession in the buildup to United's third goal.

Solskjaer singled the Brazilian out for praise and explained why he played such a key role against the Bundesliga leaders.

"I'm sure Fred covered every little single blade of grass on that pitch," Solskjaer told Metro.

"It's unbelievable how that boy just recovers for the next [game] one.

"The squad is good and of course it gives us options now.

"We have possibilities to play 4-3-3, diamond, 4-2-3-1, 3-4-1-2 - it's the execution and it's the principles and it's the work rate which is key here."
