Ranking Every Premier League Hall Of Fame Nominee From Best To Worst

Ranking Every Premier League Hall Of Fame Nominee From Best To Worst

'Worst' is quite harsh to some of these greats...

The Premier League revealed the first inductees into its Hall of Fame this week, top scorer Alan Shearer and arguably the best ever foreign import, Thierry Henry.

Pretty much no-one can argue with the inclusion of the pair, with the stats speaking for themselves. Shearer scored a ridiculous 260 goals in 441 appearances, while Henry bagged 175 goals in 258 matches.

Alongside the pair of strikers, the Premier League revealed the nominees to next be inducted into the Hall of Fame, which fans can vote for.

Among the possible inductees are Manchester United legends such as Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, and Paul Scholes, Liverpool heroes Steven Gerrard and Robbie Fowler, Arsenal icons Dennis Bergkamp and Tony Adams, and many more Premier League stars.

Here is the list of every player who could be next in, in order of just how good we think they were.

23. Matt Le Tissier
A hero at St. Mary's, Le Tissier is up against it with these Premier League and Champions League winners.

22. Les Ferdinand
Inspirational for Newcastle United, the striker was one of the stars of the Premier League in the 90s.

21. Michael Owen
Owen was incredible while at Liverpool, and is still the last Englishman to win the Ballon d'Or. The less said about his time at Stoke the better...

20. Robbie Fowler
Another who was excellent at Anfield, before finding it more difficult to replicate that elsewhere.

19. Tony Adams
An inspirational leader, and one of many who have Arsene Wenger to thank for reigniting his career.

18. Ian Wright
From non-league to the Premier League, Wright's rise from the bottom to the top was inspiring for many.

17. Robin van Persie
If it wasn't for injuries, could the Dutchman have been even more highly regarded?

16. Sol Campbell
Tottenham fans might not admit it, but Campbell was one of the top defenders of his era.

15. Andy Cole
Alongside Dwight Yorke, Cole was part of one of the most feared strike partnerships the division has seen.

14. David Beckham
Beckham wasn't only a marketing ploy, the midfielder was a touch of class in the middle of the pitch at a time when English players could be faulted for their technical ability.

13. Didier Drogba
The man who dragged Chelsea to Premier League and Champions League titles, what more do you need to add.

12. Nemanja Vidic
One of Sir Alex Ferguson's best ever bargains?

11. Dennis Bergkamp
A class above many of the others of his time, the Dutchman was a key part of Arsenal's best sides under Wenger.

10. Peter Schmeichel
Possibly the best goalkeeper to ever grace the Premier League, or at least the most decorated.

9. Ashley Cole
Rock solid in defence, and also pretty handy going forward when he did.

8. Rio Ferdinand
Alongside Vidic, the ex-England international made what was possibly the best centre-back partnership the league has seen.

7. John Terry
Captain, leader, legend. Terry made Chelsea what they are today.

6. Roy Keane
The epitome of Ferguson's United, no one wanted to be up against Keane on the pitch.

5. Paul Scholes
Apparently called the greatest player ever by almost every top footballer around, according to Manchester United fans, Scholes was actually quite good.

4. Patrick Vieira
The battles between him and Keane were legendary at their peaks.

3. Frank Lampard
No midfielder has been able to match Lampard's goalscoring record at the top.

2. Steven Gerrard
So unlucky to never lift the Premier League trophy, Gerrard carried Liverpool during some of their most difficult years.

1. Eric Cantona
Would Manchester United be where they are now without the inspirational Frenchman?
