Renato Sanches Linked With Stunning Return To The Premier League

Renato Sanches Linked With Stunning Return To The Premier League

Could a second season in the Premier League reignite his career?

Midfielder Renato Sanches was supposed to be a steal when Swansea City signed him for free last summer on loan.

The Portugal international had fallen out of favour with then Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti and so was shipped out to the Premier League for a year-long loan spell.

His debut against Newcastle United didn't quite live up to the hype. The Welsh side lost 1-0 and Sanches looked helpless as he was bossed by the Magpies midfield.

Sanches was at one point one of the brightest young sparks in football. He made the move from Benfica to Munich for a whopping £30 million. Despite his young age, his career has somehow taken a nose-dive since then, not least because of his social media antics.

Former Swansea City boss Paul Clements substituted the youngster at halftime in a match against Chelsea after he misplaced a pass to the advertising hoardings thinking that it was a player. Extraordinary.

In January, Sanches pulled a muscle in his leg and new Swans boss and fellow national Carlos Carvalhal allowed him to go home and recover from his injury.

Now, newly-promoted Wolves are looking to bring in the youngster. Portuguese outlet Diário de Notícias are reporting that Wolves will have to pay the full £2 million in wages if he was to come on a loan spell. Bayern, however, would rather a permanent move and are asking for around £20 million.

Another obstacle for the Midlands club is that they will have to fight off interest from Italian outfit Inter Milan.

At only 20-years-old there's surely much more to come from this individual, but who knows at which club that will be at?
