Alan Shearer reveals the staggering amount he rejected from Adidas for boot deal

The Premier League all time goalscorer opted to stay with Umbro over a more lucrative deal with Adidas.

Alan Shearer has recently revealed the details of player boot deals and exposed the huge figure Adidas offered him during his playing career.

Player boot deals have become a huge part of football in the modern era, with players paid huge amounts to wear the latest models and colour-ways.

Brazilian teenage sensation Endrick recently made headlines after signing a huge boot deal with New Balance to become 'the face of the brand.'

Cristiano Ronaldo is also tied down to a lifetime contract with Nike since 2016, where he is reported to earn £24m every year.

Shearer exposed the details of his experience working with brands in the latest episode of 'The Rest is Football.'

"I was a 16-year-old, Umbro were the first ones to come to me," he said.

The former Newcastle striker remained with Umbro but received a massive offer from Adidas during the prime of his career.

"So around 94/95 I got an offer from Adidas," added Shearer.

"They were prepared to pay me £600k more than Umbro over the course of a four or five-year contract."

Despite the magnitude of the offer, Shearer opted to reject the proposal and stick with his current deal at Umbro.

"Just because Umbro, were the first and I'd been with them for years I turned them down and stayed with Umbro," added Shearer.

"I wore Umbro from start to finish, from 1988 to 2006."

Micah Richards joked about Alan's decision to stay loyal on the podcast with Gary Lineker, telling Alan: "They fit in, Walkers ready salted crisps and Umbro boots, just basic efficiency and loyalty."
