AFTV star goes on huge rant after Newcastle defeat, claims Bruno Guimaraes should be in PRISON for foul

AFTV star goes on huge rant after Newcastle defeat, claims Bruno Guimaraes should be in PRISON for foul

AFTV was in fine form.

An Arsenal Fan TV pundit has claimed that Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes 'should be in a local prison' for a foul during the Gunners' 1-0 defeat at St James' Park.

Mikel Arteta's side lost their first Premier League game of the season against the Magpies on Saturday evening, in what was a controversial encounter.

Kai Havertz avoided a red card for a foul on Sean Longstaff in the first half, but there was more to come.

Anthony Gordon's second half winner for Newcastle was checked by VAR for three separate aspects before the goal was given.

After the match, Arteta fumed at the VAR officials, adding that he felt 'embarrassed' and describing the decisions that went against Arsenal as an 'absolute disgrace'.

Unsurprisingly, there was plenty of reaction to the goal on Arsenal Fan TV (AFTV) - and its fair to say they weren't happy.

AFTV might not be at the stage it was during the latter days of Arsene Wenger's reign in terms of clippable content - partially down to the fact that Arsenal don't lose that often - but the Newcastle reaction felt like something of a throwback.

And contributor Frank reeled off a list of reasons why he believed Guimaraes should have been sent to prison for a foul before Newcastle's goal - instead of simply receiving a card from the referee.

You can listen to the rant below.

He fumed: "Before the goal even comes up, Bruno Guimaraes wasn't a foul, it was an assault.

"Bruno Guimaraes should be in the local prison at the moment. There's a foul, then the elbow in the back of the head, then two more yellow card offences. Kicking the ball away, and kicking the ball at another player.

"I think the ball is kicked at Kai Havertz. How Bruno Guimaraes manages to get a full 90 minutes today is disgraceful.

"It's not good enough. This is supposed to be the best league in the world.

Frank also criticised VAR over its decision to allow Gordon's goal to stand.

One area of questioning from Arsenal supporters was over whether the ball stayed in play before the goal was scored - but beIN Sports technology has since showed that part of the ball was indeed in play.

The goal proved to be the decisive moment, with Newcastle hanging on for a crucial 1-0 victory.
