Arsenal 'identify' 24-year-old attacker as first summer signing

Arsenal 'identify' 24-year-old attacker as first summer signing

Arsenal are already looking ahead to the summer.

Arsenal are interested in adding to their attacking roster this summer, as Mikel Arteta has identified 24-year-old forward as a potential first summer signing.

The Gunners currently sit top of the Premier League on goal difference ahead of Liverpool and one point ahead of Manchester City who they play at the Etihad on Sunday.

Despite Arsenal having the pressing concerns of fighting for the title, they are already planning ahead for next season.

Reports have already come out claiming the club has 'initiated contact' with Sporting star Ousmane Diomande, and now it has emerged that they are also interested in strengthening their attack.

According to a report from TRTSpor Arsenal are also reportedly eyeing Fenerbahce's Ferdi Kadioglu as a potential summer acquisition, although they might encounter complications in securing the deal.

However, the report claims that Fenerbahce will be very hesitant to sell Kadioglu due to his outstanding form this campaign.

It suggests that it would require an "astronomical" fee for the club to even consider letting him go, especially considering he still has more than two years remaining on his contract with the Turkish giants.

The Turkish international, capable of operating on both flanks, has been a regular presence for Fenerbahce, featuring in all but one of the club's 30 league matches this season.

Kadioglu, with 15 caps for Turkey, notched his first goal for his country in November against Germany. With Arteta expected to seek both an attacker and a midfielder in the summer transfer window, Kadioglu's versatility and skill set could make him an attractive target for ticking both boxes.

Despite a rather modest return of three goals and four assists in 41 games across all competitions this term, his performances have been pivotal as the Turkish side are locked closely together with rivals Galatasaray in the title race.

Arsenal aren't the only club monitoring the wide player with TRTSpor also claiming that Italian champions Napoli are also interested in Kadioglu's signature.
