Barcelona and Arsenal drop promo video for pre-season friendly, fans are horrified

Barcelona and Arsenal drop promo video for pre-season friendly, fans are horrified

Barcelona face Arsenal in the early hours of Thursday morning, European time, as they get ready for their seasons.

Arsenal and Barcelona might be two teams who traditionally pride themselves on how good they look on the pitch but it appears they've not yet nailed beauty in their promo videos.

Last season went well for both Arsenal and Barcelona relatively speaking, even if the Gunners did fall just short of winning the Premier League and Barca failed in Europe.

Before the campaign started anyone to do with the north Londoners would have snapped your hand off for a runners up spot and fans from Catalunya probably didn't expect to win the league.

Now both teams are getting ready for next season, with one SPORTbible writer even predicting that Mikel Arteta's team are going to go one better and become champions - though I suspect he was just sucking up to our Arsenal supporting boss.

The two sides are due to meet on Wednesday night in the US, continuing the English sides tour across 'the Pond' having lost to Manchester United last weekend.

To remind fans about the match they produced a video of Bukayo Saka, Gabriele Martinelli, Pedri and Aleix Balde talking to each other and it's not gone down too well. You can watch for yourself below.

"So cringe. Like something from teletubbies when they zoom into the TV on their belly," one fan said, comparing it to the popular TV show that Burnley recently used for a transfer announcement.

"It seems someone kept them on gunpoint. This sounds like 5 year old kids reading a script," joked a second.

A third claimed the promo had done the opposite of what it was supposed to do, adding: "I was going to watch this game but now I really don’t want to."

"Liquidate both clubs immediately what on earth is this?", questioned another.

A fourth summed it up pretty well exclaiming: "Actually can’t stand modern football."

"I think I can speak on the behalf of everyone who watched this cringe video when I say that we could all have done without seeing it," replied a fifth supporter.

And on one of the player's complete lack of enthusiasm another fan simply commented: "Bro!!! Martinelli never wanted to do this."

As well as hoping that the game with the Spanish giants goes better off the pitch than the penalty loss to United, Arteta's side will also be hoping things improve in the stands as well.

Some Arsenal fans were spotted fighting amongst themselves as the match with their Premier League rivals was going on in front of a record crowd.

After playing Xavi's side, the Gunners next face Monaco before meeting Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley.
