Ben White and Phil Foden had 'frosty' exchange moments before Kyle Walker's bust-up with Arsenal staff

Ben White and Phil Foden had 'frosty' exchange moments before Kyle Walker's bust-up with Arsenal staff

Things got heated at full-time.

Ben White and Phil Foden shared a 'frosty' exchange after Arsenal's 1-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday.

After 86 minutes of cagey action, Gabriel Martinelli broke the deadlock with a deflected finish, sending the home crowd into pure pandemonium.

It proved to be the winning goal, as Mikel Arteta got the better of his former colleague Pep Guardiola for the second time this season, having done so in the Community Shield back in August.

Tensions reached boiling point after the full-time whistle at the Emirates, with Kyle Walker involved in an altercation with Arsenal set-piece coach Nicolas Jover.

As he left the pitch, Walker refused to acknowledge Jover's handshake, prompting a touchline brawl between both sets of teams, with Erling Haaland forced to intervene.

However, moments before the commotion, Gunners defender White shared a frosty handshake with Foden. You can watch the footage below.

The Manchester City playmaker walked over to White to shake his compatriot's hand, but their exchange looked to be anything but friendly, with Foden appearing to mouth something as he looked back.

According to the Daily Mail, the pair continued their feud off the field and "could be seen sporting wry smiles as they each headed towards the tunnel".

Indeed, it is not the first time that White and Foden have butted heads, with White charging towards his England teammate in fury after Arsenal's 4-1 defeat to Guardiola's side back in April. Foden reacted angrily by shoving White, sparking yet another scuffle between the players.

On Sunday, White was also spotted taunting Jack Grealish as he left the pitch, prompting a similarly angry reaction from the winger, which White laughed off.
