Erling Haaland names the one Arsenal player that would instantly improve Man City

Man City host Arsenal in the Premier League on March 31.

Erling Haaland has named one Arsenal player who he believes would instantly improve the current Manchester City side.

The two sides face off at the Etihad Stadium on March 31 in what could prove to be a pivotal fixture in this season's Premier League title race.

Mikel Arteta's side are currently top of the division after Liverpool and City could only draw 1-1 at Anfield before the international break, and are ahead of the Reds on goal difference.

City, meanwhile, are a point further back in third with a lower goal difference than both sides, but will end next weekend on top if they win and Liverpool fail to beat Brighton.

That draw against Jurgen Klopp's side was only the second time City have failed to win a game in the league since December 16, as Pep Guardiola's outfit attempt to go on their seemingly traditional late charge towards the title.

But this is one of the closest title races in recent years, with both Arsenal and Liverpool possessing world class players that could guide them to the league crown.

And when asked whether Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard could improve City's squad, Haaland replied: "Yes, I think so.

"There's a good player, and a player that plays for our rivals. He's just signed a new contract, so it's not a topic, but at City we have a lot of the best players in the world."

Odegaard has had another incredible season for the Gunners from midfield, controlling games and scoring six goals.

He has also provided six assists, while his individual contributions have often proved the difference between draws and wins - such as his pinpoint cross for Declan Rice's injury-time winner against Luton in December.

Like his international team-mate Haaland says, a move to City isn't on the cards - not least because Arsenal would have no intention of selling him - meaning that we'll get to see the pair do battle on opposite Premier League sides for at least the next few seasons.
