A post about Martin Odegaard from 2014 has gone viral after Arsenal sealed their passage to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Heading into the second leg against Porto on Tuesday night, the Gunners knew they would have to dig deep after losing the first leg 1-0 at the Estadio do Dragao.
With 41 minutes on the clock, Arsenal found the breakthrough after some brilliant work from Odegaard allowed Leandro Trossard to open the scoring with a fine finish.
The tie went all the way as the scoreline stayed the same after 120 minutes, with the Premier League side eventually coming out on top via a penalty shootout.

After the match, a tweet about Arsenal captain Odegaard from back in 2014 went viral.
The post, from an account named '101 Great Goals', wrote: “If Arsenal do sign Martin Odegaard, they're a shoo-in for the 2024 Champions League quarter finals.” Reposting the tweet on Tuesday night after the final whistle, Arsenal responded with a crystal ball emoji.
The Norwegian has been an integral part of Arsenal’s team since joining the club on a permanent deal from Real Madrid back in the summer of 2021.

Reacting to Odegaard’s stunning assist, TNT Sports commentator Ally McCoist said: “Odegaard that is absolutely unbelievable. The touch and the finish is magnificent.
“Absolute genius look at this touch here. Back onside, the weight of that pass, he takes it other side of Pepe and plays it inside fullback, taking nothing away from goalscorer.”
The Scotsman added: “Bang, bang, that is magnificent, unbelievable. He knocks Joao Mario off balance, completely off balance and Trossard does the rest.

Arsenal will now have an 18-day break before they are back in Premier League action against Manchester City, which will take place at the Etihad Stadium on March 31.
