Ben Foster predicts the TWO goalkeepers Pep Guardiola would pick as England manager, both uncapped

Ben Foster believes he knows what goalkeepers Pep Guardiola would pick if he was in charge of England.

Ben Foster has named the TWO goalkeepers Pep Guardiola would pick if he was the England manager.

England have booked their spot at Euro 2024 after topping Group C, having won six of their eight qualifying games.

Jordan Pickford started both fixtures during the international break as he kept a clean sheet against Malta before conceding a goal against North Macedonia.

Aaron Ramsdale and Sam Johnstone were the other goalkeepers selected by Gareth Southgate for England's fixtures this month.

But which goalkeepers would Guardiola select if he was in charge of the Three Lions?

Well, Foster, who played eight times for England, has predicted who the Manchester City boss would pick - and it's two players who aren't capped at senior international level. Check it out below:

Speaking on his podcast, the former Manchester United and Wrexham stopper claimed the Spaniard would pick Brighton's Jason Steele and Burnley's James Trafford.

"I think if we had Pep Guardiola as England manager, we would win tournaments," he said.

Asked what keepers Guardiola would pick, Foster replied: "He could pick anybody. He could pick... I think he could pick Steele at Brighton. Or Trafford at Burnley. Genuinely.

"He would completely change it."

On Steele, the 40-year-old added: "Have you seen the way Steele does it for Brighton by the way? It is outrageous.

"It would be completely changed because that's the way he wants to play.

"That's the style of play that he wants to go with. That's interesting, isn't it? That is a can of worms."

Steele and Trafford have represented England at youth level, but have yet to earn a senior cap.

Steele, 33, has played four league games this season and has starred with his distribution under Roberto De Zerbi.

Former Man City youth player Trafford, meanwhile, is 21 and has played 12 league games this campaign, having impressed at Bolton Wanderers last season.

Realistically, he has more of a chance than Steele to break into the England fold considering his age.

Who would Guardiola pick as his goalkeepers if he was England boss? Let us know.
