Harry Kane made bold Man City Champions League prediction and he's been proven right

Harry Kane made bold Man City Champions League prediction and he's been proven right

Kane's prediction has been proven right.

Harry Kane has been proven right with his Champions League predictions for this season.

Kane has excelled in his first season as a Bayern Munich player after making the move from Tottenham last summer.

He has scored 36 goals in 32 Bundesliga games - 11 more than the next top scorer Serhou Guirassy - and has helped his side to reach the Champions League semi-finals.

While the move to Germany has unequivocally been the right one for the England captain, he has also been proven almost perfectly right with his prediction made shortly after the competition began.

Speaking in November, Kane predicted that only Bayern and Real Madrid could challenge holders Manchester City for this year's Champions League crown.

Real, of course, knocked out City at the quarter-final stage, before drawing Bayern in the semi-finals.

Bayern's Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund have already reached the final at Wembley after defeating French giants Paris Saint-Germain over two legs.

When asked whether City were a level above the other sides in Europe, Kane gave a definitive answer when speaking to Marca: "I don't think so.

"We know that City have magnificent players, and their level has been very high in recent years with an extraordinary coach like Pep Guardiola.

"From Bayern's point of view, we focus on what we can control and not on our rivals. If we meet Manchester City, we will be prepared for it.

"But all the big clubs have their aspiration to win it, and Bayern will be focused on that. The idea of this club is to win all the competitions, although it is true that it is a very complicated tournament with great teams."

"There is Real Madrid [as one of the favourites] with their fantastic history, and I think Bayern are also among the favourites," he continued.

Kane and Bayern are preparing to take on Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday, with the score at 2-2 from the first leg.

The England star scored a penalty to put Bayern 2-1 up at the Allianz Arena, but Vinicius Junior's late strike for the visitors means it is all to play for in the second leg at the Bernabeu.
