Fans on social media are divided over the bizarre details on Mykhailo Mudryk's shin pads.

Mudryk finally opened his account for Chelsea since his big-money £88.5 million transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk as he scored against Fulham on Monday.

He bagged a terrific goal in his side's 2-0 win at Craven Cottage in what was his 24th appearance for the club.

Chelsea fans came up with a chant for their Ukrainian winger which mocks Arsenal, who had been pursuing the player before the Blues swooped in and completed the deal.

After the game, Mudryk shared his shin pads online that contained a motivational message.

It shows the word 'can't' being gradually etched out in favour of the word 'can'.

The details on his shin pads didn't go unnoticed among supporters on social media.

One X user wrote: "Yeah dude, Mudryk is about to explode. I am a huge fan, and his play is getting smarter."

A second tweeted: "Mentality monster!!! Let’s have it."

A third added: "This boy will go to the very top."

A rival fan argued: "Why is this an incredible mentality? He has a cartoon on his shin pad."

Another commented; "Cringe."

Mudryk, who was forced off against Fulham, was praised by Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, who hailed his character.

"It’s about maturity, adaptation and we need to understand young people as they need time to settle," he said. "It’s a massive change to come here and when you arrive in a team it’s not easy to settle because, being honest, too many young players arrive to a team that is not solid. It’s not the cherry of the cake.

"They need to add something to the team to add something important. It is to trust these guys, these young talented players.”
