Thomas Frank slams Brentford fans for booing their own team vs Chelsea, he's not held back

Chelsea came from behind to claim a point on the road to Brentford and Thomas Frank did not hold back when speaking about Bees supporters who booed his team during the clash.

Nicolas Jackson put Mauricio Pochettino's side in front at the Gtech Community Stadium, but the Bees rallied and drew level after half-time thanks to Mads Roerslev.

Brentford looked on course to pick up three points after Yoane Wissa put them ahead with an acrobatic volley.

But defender Axel Disasi netted a header in the closing stages of the encounter to ensure the spoils were shared between the two sides as Brentford moved a point further away from the drop zone, while Chelsea remain at 11th in the top flight table.

Brentford ended a three-game losing streak with the point against the Stamford Bridge outfit, but the home faithful were clearly unhappy as boos rang out after Jackson has put Chelsea in front.

The Bees are next in action next Saturday evening when they travel across London to take on title contenders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, as they aim for their first victory in five games.

The booing from the home supporters was addressed by Frank in his post-match press conference, and it is fair to say he did not appreciate the response from the Bees fans after his side had gone behind.

Frank, who has been in charge of Brentford since 2018 and overseen their rise to the Premier League, said: "I’d like to speak to the supporters about the boos, while 1-0 down to Chelsea.

"Is that support? What the f***.

"They were brilliant when we were 1-1, 2-1. We will fight as staff and players but we need them as well."

While football fans are free to air their views on what they are seeing, it is worth bearing in mind that when Brentford were promoted to the top flight in 2021, Chelsea had just been crowned European champions for the second time.

Three years is a long time in football and circumstances and expectations change, but bearing that in mind, maybe Frank has a point?
