Cristiano Ronaldo full-time reaction spotted in furious response to Portugal defeat

Cristiano Ronaldo full-time reaction spotted in furious response to Portugal defeat

Ronaldo was livid after the full-time whistle.

Cristiano Ronaldo was left furious at full-time after Portugal lost 2-0 to Slovenia in an international friendly.

Football's leading all-time international goalscorer played 90 minutes in Ljubljana but couldn't inspire Roberto Martinez's side to victory.

Late second half goals from Adam Gnezda Cerin and former Derby forward Timi Elsnik instead ensured a surprise victory for Slovenia, who have lost just twice in all competitions since June 2022.

And Matjaz Kek's side, who will be in England's group at Euro 2024, made sure that they bounced back from a 2-2 draw against Malta earlier in the international break.

For Portugal, this was their first defeat since losing 1-0 to Morocco in the 2022 World Cup third place play-off, having strolled towards qualification for Euro 2024 under Martinez.

That means Ronaldo and co have certainly gotten used to winning matches in recent teams - and the Al Nassr star was left livid after his side failed to taste victory in the Slovenian capital.

After a short embrace with Martinez, Ronaldo stormed straight down the tunnel - while gesturing at several officials on his way.

The 39-year-old wasn't able to replicate his form from club level, which has seen him smash in 23 goals in 22 Saudi Pro League games for Al Nassr this season.

However, Luis Castro's side are currently 12 points behind league leaders Al Hilal with just 10 games to play, meaning their chances of winning the title appear to be slim.

But Ronaldo will hope to end the season on a positive note at least ahead of Portugal's Euro 2024 campaign, where they will look to reclaim the trophy they won in 2016.

Portugal will take on Czech Republic, Turkey and Georgia in a competitive Group F, with their first fixture taking place against Czech Republic in Leipzig on June 18.
