Gary Neville has outed Jamie Carragher for retweeting a fake update about an Arsenal player.

This weekend, Liverpool are set to take on Premier League leaders Arsenal at Anfield.

Ahead of the match, it was spotted by former Manchester United player Neville that Carragher retweeted a fake tweet from journalist David Ornstein.

The fake account tweeted that Arsenal defender William Saliba will be out for an extended period.

On Twitter, Neville posted a picture of Carragher retweeting the tweet with a caption that read: “Awkward! Fake account! Calm down @Carra23.”

Speaking ahead of the clash, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: “I love it the most when you are first and 55 points ahead! Then it is a pure joy!

“But it's all fine – I love it. It's how I said, we are in the position we are and it's not that bad. We play a super-strong team; we play a team that played an exceptional last season and coming back is even better than last season.”

Klopp continued: “Bringing in top players, they had already a top team, bringing in really good players to improve the team. They did that, went through the Champions League [group stage] pretty easily and played a really good Premier League campaign, so [it's] a massive game.

“It's great, great to have them, great to meet them. We met quite frequently, obviously, and it's good but we have to make sure we make it a proper home game, a proper Anfield experience. That's all I want.”

Liverpool head into the tie one point behind the Gunners, who are hoping to go one better than last season after they were beaten to the Premier League title by Pep Guardiola's rampant Manchester City side.

The Anfield club meanwhile are gunning for their second league title of the Klopp era.
