iShowSpeed's reaction to Lionel Messi winning the Ballon d'Or is exactly what you'd expect

Speed reacted.

iShowSpeed reacted to Lionel Messi winning his record-extending eighth Ballon d'Or - and it went exactly how you would expect.

The social media star was invited to the awards ceremony in Paris, and filmed himself throughout the event.

He exchanged words with Erling Haaland and co before the event got underway.

The American had a brief chat with Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, and dared to ask him whether he thought Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi, his international team-mate, was the better player.

He even met tennis legend Novak Djokovic - who tried to convince Speed he was an AC Milan player.

Speed was sat in the main hall throughout the awards ceremony, and turned the camera on when it was time for Manchester United legend David Beckham to announce the winner.

You can see how he reacted to Messi's win below.

Before the announcement, the Ronaldo superfan was seen repeatedly mouthing 'Ronaldo' as he put both his hands to his ears.

There was then a look of genuine shock on his face when Messi's name was read out, before an emotional Speed shouted: "What??"

He then turned the camera towards Messi after barking at the screen, and said: "Messi, man. Ain't no way, man. Not Ronaldo?"

It was quite the night for Messi, who gave a lengthy speech after receiving the award from Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham. You can read his quotes in full here.

The Argentinian finished ahead of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, while Kevin De Bruyne finished in fourth position.

Meanwhile, Barcelona star Aitana Bonmati won the women's Ballon d'Or, ahead of Sam Kerr, Salma Paralluelo, Fridolina Rolfo and Mary Earps.

And although he missed out on the main men's award, Haaland did win the Gerd Muller Trophy for the top goalscorer in Europe.

Jude Bellingham won the Kopa Trophy for best men's young player, while Aston Villa shot-stopper Martinez won the Yashin Trophy for best men's goalkeeper.
