Lionel Messi's character was completely wrong in last video game appearance as GTA 6 cameo rumoured

Lionel Messi was included in Call of Duty but there were a few issues with his likeness.

Lionel Messi's character had a few issues in his last video game appearance.

The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner has been rumoured as a cameo character in the upcoming GTA 6 game which has been confirmed.

A trailer is on the way in December for the Rockstar creation and early leaks hint at a return to Miami for a 'Vice City' re-run.

Messi is of course now living in the Magic City, captaining Inter Miami to a Leagues Cup win after joining in the summer.

And some fans are convinced that Messi will have some involvement in what is one of the most anticipated releases in years.

The Argentine has been in a plethora of EA Sports football games over the years, even gracing the cover of many.

But just over a year ago, he was included in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, the free-to-play battle royale game.

Messi was brought in as a playable character, with the official Call of Duty Twitter account posting a video to announce the arrival of the 'Messi operator bundle'.

The 36-year-old joined fellow footballers Paul Pogba and Neymar in the COD titles, with the bundle available for a limited period of time and costing 2400 COD points, setting gamers back $19.99.

He came with his own backpack and custom weapons but despite the resemblance to the Argentina captain, there were a a few problems with his appearance.

For starters, Messi's large sleeve tattoo on his right arm is not visible even though it's an iconic part of his look.

And secondly, despite it being common knowledge that Messi is left-footed and left-handed, the visual has him holding his gun with his right hand.

Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to raise some of the appearance issues, with one user writing: "No tattoos?"

Another said: "They didn't put his tats on him???"

A third added: "This messi is not short."

A fourth commented: "Shooting with his right hand? L."

Here's hoping Rockstar take more care if they manage to get the greatest football ever in the game.
