Jurgen Klopp's epic reaction to fan chant about Liverpool super sub Darwin Nunez

Jurgen Klopp's epic reaction to fan chant about Liverpool super sub Darwin Nunez

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reacted to a Nottingham Forest chant for Darwin Nunez.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given his thoughts on a chant about super sub Darwin Nunez sung by Nottingham Forest fans.

A dramatic 99th-minute winner from Nunez saw the Reds clinch all three points and extend their gap at the top of the table with a 1-0 victory over struggling Forest.

The win put Klopp's team four points ahead of Manchester City who host Manchester United in tomorrow's derby.

Cody Gakpo was preferred to Nunez and started up front at the City Ground, but the Uruguayan came on after an hour and made all the difference.

Chaotic scenes saw Forest players, staff and even the chairman protest a controversial decision made by the referee in the build-up to Liverpool's goal.

Nottingham Forest fans compared Nunez to former Liverpool striker Andy Carroll when he came on, singing "You're just a s*** Andy Carroll".

He enacted his revenge by scoring the winner and his boss Klopp was asked about the chant after the game.

"I would not sing a song like that. I would try not to wind Darwin up," Klopp said. Seemingly suggesting that the song came back to haunt the Forest fans right at the end.

The win is huge in the race for the title and means that Liverpool remain in control of their own destiny.

The Reds meet City at Anfield next weekend, a game that is already being built up as a title decider.

Arsenal also remain in with a chance and could reduce the gap between themselves and Liverpool to two points if they beat Sheffield United on Monday.

At the other end of the table, Forest remain in serious trouble just outside the relegation zone as things stand.

They are also still waiting to hear back from the Premier League about a potential points deduction after breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
