Jurgen Klopp responds to Man Utd fans chanting he's 'cracking up' after Liverpool draw

Jurgen Klopp couldn't resist responding to the chants of Manchester United fans after Liverpool dropped points at Old Trafford.

On Saturday Liverpool missed the chance to go top of the Premier League table by drawing 2-2 with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Jurgen Klopp's side went into half-time 1-0 up thanks to Luis Diaz's opener, but their utter domination of the home side really deserved more than one goal.

Liverpool were made to pay for their profligacy in front of goal when United turned the game on its head after the break.

Bruno Fernandes pounced on a wayward pass from Jarell Quansah and brilliantly lob Caoimhín Kelleher from 40 yards, before teenage sensation Kobbie Mainoo produced a stunning curling effort to give his side an unlikely lead.

Momahed Salah converted a controversial late penalty to give Liverpool fans hope of a comeback, but Klopp's side were unable to find a winner.

Klopp, now in the final two months of his Liverpool tenure, cut a frustrated figure on the touchline for much of the afternoon.

Exasperation as his side's wastefulness turned into despair at their haphazard defending, meaning by full-time he was not in the best of moods.

United supporters stood in the Stretford End noticed this, and made sure to serenade their rival as he headed towards the tunnel at full-time.

A chorus of "Jurgen's cracking up" - to the tune of beloved English football anthem Three Lions - broke out, and at first Klopp appeared to ignore it.

However, just before he disappeared down the tunnel, the German coach cupped his hand to his ear and then shrugged.

Ironically, it was a moment not dissimilar to Jose Mourinho's on-field ear-cup when United beat Juventus in 2018.

The draw leaves Liverpool level on 71 points with leaders Arsenal but behind on goal difference. Manchester City are hot on their heals with 70 points.

With seven games remaining, it looks like the title race could go down to the wire.
