Mohamed Salah 'has signed Saudi contract' as Premier League cult hero drops Liverpool bombshell

Mohamed Salah 'has signed Saudi contract' as Premier League cult hero drops Liverpool bombshell

Sensational news just in.

Mohamed Salah has 'signed a contract' with a team in the Saudi Pro League, according to a former Premier League player.

The Liverpool winger was targeted by Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad last summer.

Al Ittihad bid £150 million for Salah as the transfer window drew to a close, which Liverpool rejected.

Salah, who has a contract with the Reds until 2025, remains a top target for clubs in the Middle East.

The 31-year-old joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017 and has become one of Jurgen Klopp's most reliable players.

He's won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and two Carabao Cups during his time at Anfield.

However, former Premier League striker Mido has claimed his time in English football is coming to a close.

He says Salah has already agreed terms with an unnamed Saudi club ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Mido wrote on X: "Mohamed Salah will be in the Saudi League next season. Contracts have been signed."

Liverpool saw several players leave for the Saudi Pro League last summer.

Roberto Firmino joined Al Ahli after falling down the pecking order, while Fabinho moved to Al Ittihad.

Former captain Jordan Henderson joined Al Ettifaq, although he's since returned to Europe with Dutch giants Ajax.

Klopp will step down as Liverpool manager at the end of this season. It'll no doubt have an impact on Salah's future.

The Egypt captain is currently out of action with a muscle injury he picked up in this month's 4-1 win over Brentford.

He missed Sunday's Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea and is a doubt for Wednesday's FA Cup fifth round clash against Southampton.

Klopp provided an update during a press conference on Tuesday, also addressing the fitness of Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai.

He said: "It’s touch and go with a lot of players, still with the boys who [were] not available for the final – like Darwin, Mo, Dom. We have to see what they can do today."
