60,000 fans tuned in to watch Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold play pro clubs on EA Sports FC against streamers on Wednesday night.
During what was an important night in the Premier League title race, where both Arsenal and Manchester City won their matches to catch up to Liverpool, defender Alexander-Arnold was focused on something else.
Instead of watching Liverpool’s title rivals, the England international was engaged in a pro clubs match on the popular football video game EA Sports FC 24, against streamers Angry Ginge and Yung Filly.

At one stage, 60,000 people were tuning into the match, which was being shown on streaming platform Twitch.
After the match, Angry Ginge took to social media and wrote: “Mate showed me we was no.1 on twitch yesterday. True Dream come true. Love you all we go again tonight!”
Alexander-Arnold has not kicked a ball for Jurgen Klopp’s side for nearly two months as he continues to recover from a knee injury.

However, speaking ahead of the Reds’ Premier League match against Sheffield United, Klopp provided a positive update.
He said: “Curtis is in training, full training, and is in contention. Yeah, that's it pretty much.
“The other boys [are] doing well. Diogo and Trent are together in a group, which helps both, but [it] looks like from next week on they will be hopefully in parts of team training, and then we will see the rest.”
When asked recently about how the dressing room reacted to Klopp’s exit announcement, Alexander-Arnold spoke about a speech given by captain Virgil van Dijk.

He said: “That was something that Virgil (van Dijk) said to us all after Jurgen had told us.
“He said: ‘This is huge news that’s going to rock the footballing world but we can’t let it distract us, we have to use it as motivation'.”
The 25-year-old added: “The manager has led us to so much success, he’s enabled us to fulfil our dreams, so we owe it to him to give everything we possibly can to give him the best send-off.”
