Gary Lineker destroys Man Utd with brutal response to Real Madrid transfer rumour

Gary Lineker has responded to rumours linking Manchester United with a move for a Real Madrid star

Gary Lineker has destroyed Manchester United with a brutal response to a Real Madrid transfer rumour.

It has been a season to forget for United so far as Erik ten Hag continues to struggle to get the best out of the players at his disposal.

United are currently seventh in the Premier League table, 13 points off leaders Liverpool.

In Europe, their Champions League campaign came to a disastrous end after they finished bottom of their group behind Galatasaray, FC Copenhagen and Bayern Munich.

With the January transfer window now in full swing, United have been linked with a host of different players.

On Wednesday, it was reported that United are eyeing a summer move for one of Madrid’s best players.

According to Spanish news outlet SPORT, the Old Trafford club, backed by British billionaire and INEOS boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe are interested in luring Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior to United.

It has been reported that the Red Devils would be willing to pay as much as £130 million to bring Vinicius to Old Trafford.

The report claimed that Madrid could use the money to fund their contract offer for Paris Saint Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, who has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu.

Reacting to a tweet about United’s apparent interest in Vinicius, former England and Barcelona striker Lineker simply put two laughing emojis.

Apart from Vinicius, United have also been linked with a move for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, who the club see as the perfect profile fit.

Hinting at what players he could be targetting, Ten Hag said: “If you want to perform you need hungry players. You need players with personalities and who are hungry to fight for the badge and fight for this club.

“And they need to do this in a team. It’s not about discipline. It’s about normal behaviour. That is what you can expect from a top professional.”
