Bruno Fernandes has addressed the boos at full-time of Manchester United's humiliating defeat to Bournemouth.

The Red Devils suffered a shock 3-0 defeat to Andoni Iraola's side on Saturday, as the pressure continues to build on Erik ten Hag.

Goals from Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi sealed all three points for the Cherries, extending their unbeaten run to five games in the Premier League.

After the full-time whistle, United supporters made their thoughts clear on the players' performances, booing as they left the pitch.

Captain Fernandes addressed the frosty reception at full-time, admitting that he understood supporters' pain and that it was an "unacceptable performance".

“We apologise for this unacceptable performance," he said during his post-match interview (via Fabrizio Romano).

“Fans have been behind us all the time so it is normal they boo and didn’t like what they see. We can only say sorry”.

Fernandes continued (quotes via the Manchester Evening News): "Everyone agrees in the dressing room the performance was not at our level and we have to do much better.

"When we win a game, we don't perform the same in the next one, the same way we did before. I don't know if it's a lack of concentration or focus, or something else, but we have to be aware of it.

"After winning games, we have to get that consistency of winning games. Even sometimes underperforming but getting the result. They [Bournmouth] are really strong, the press with good intensity and if you don't do your job, you're not going to win.

"I think we had good moments at the beginning of the second half. We need to be more eager and get bodies in the box and today it wasn't the case. We want to be more consistent, we have to win every game.

"Last year, we spoke all year about being a fortress here [Old Trafford], we don't lose a game for so long and now it's been difficult for us to get results away, at home, every time we're not consistent enough.

"We need to do it because we have such a good team, that has to improve in the aspect of winning games and wanting it more."

United host Bayern Munich next in the Champions League before travelling to Anfield for a crunch match against league leaders Liverpool.
