Former Man Utd star Dimitar Berbatov destroys five-a-side opponents after disguising himself as old man

Former Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov destroyed a five-a-side team while disguising himself as an old man.

Berbatov is among the most respected players to have played in the Premier League, having plied his trade at United, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur as well as Bayer Leverkusen and Monaco on the continent.

The player’s four years at United saw him claim two Premier League titles and the Golden Boot in 2010/11.

So naturally, when Berbatov turns up to a five-as-side game, he tends to be the best player on the pitch.

The Shoot for Love YouTube channel had a make-up artist disguise Berbatov as an old man, with a fake beard and a prosthetic gut, and asked the 42-year-old to play a five-a-side match alongside a group of amateurs.

At first, the disguised Berbatov was told to “be terrible” and admirably stuck to that task, looking lethargic and slow. His team-mates were actively not passing to the former United star.

But upon being prompted to “show them what you’ve got” halfway into the game, the bearded Berbatov stunned his amateur opponents, skipping past two opponents with his trademark nonchalance and scoring a goal.

He then went off the pitch, asking for a rest, only to take off his make-up and disguise and return to the game. His team-mates were naturally, in awe.

An audacious eye-of-the-needle pass was among Berbatov’s first involvements upon his return.

The Bulgarian ended the game with three goals and four assists.

One of his team-mates said: “I had no idea, I thought he was just an old person playing and I thought he was really good, but I didn’t think anything more than that.

“But when it was actually Berbatov I thought ‘wow’. It was a good surprise once I [realised].”

Another said: "It's Dimitar f***ing Berbatov. Of course, his class is permanent.

"He could be playing for Man United right now. Man United could do with a striker, they don't have one.

"Dimitar could fill that position right now."
