Footballers across the world are praising Harry Maguire after his winner for Man Utd

Harry Maguire scored the winner for Manchester United against Copenhagen on Tuesday night.

Harry Maguire has been praised by his fellow professionals after his Manchester United redemption story was complete on Tuesday night.

The England defender, who has been booed by his own fans and subjected to strong criticism, scored the winner in the Champions League win against Copenhagen.

Maguire popped up with a bullet header from a Christian Eriksen cross in the 72nd minute.

It followed up his Man of the Match display against Sheffield United at the weekend.

You could see how much it meant to Maguire, who celebrated with pure passion.

And having had a tough time of late, plenty of footballers have reacted to his euphoric moment at Old Trafford.

Former Arsenal star Mesut Ozil weighed in, also gave props to Andre Onana, who saved a last-gasp penalty from Jordan Larsson to kickstart his United career.

He told TNT Sports: "When you are not on your game it gets picked up, but I am really proud and pleased how I have acted over this six to 12 months. I have been given an opportunity and I want to help the team and get the club back to where it should be."
