Man Utd handed massive injury boost ahead of FA Cup clash with Liverpool

Man Utd handed massive injury boost ahead of FA Cup clash with Liverpool

Erik ten Hag provided an update on his squad ahead of their FA Cup tie against Liverpool.

Manchester United have been handed a triple injury boost ahead of their big FA Cup tie against Liverpool.

Man United host Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.

And ahead of the Old Trafford showdown, Erik ten Hag has confirmed the availability of THREE key players.

Ten Hag said he expects Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Rasmus Hojlund to be available for selection against Liverpool.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, he said: "We had a good week.

"All the players you mentioned [Maguire, Wan-Bissaka and Hojlund], they returned on the pitch. Partly in the start of the week and, today, we had a session that they were all training.

"I think [they're going to be available]. We have, tomorrow, one session. We have to see how they recover from this tomorrow. But it looks good."

Ten Hag also provided an update on Tom Heaton and Mason Mount, who hasn't featured for the Red Devils since November.

He added: "So, Tom Heaton is back as well. Also, what was very good was Mason Mount trained all week with us, the first part of the week also partly. But then, also he had some full sessions with us, so it's looking good."

Ten Hag, however, will be without Altay Bayindir, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Omari Forson and Anthony Martial.

The Dutch boss will once again call upon the services of Hojlund, who has enjoyed a prolific streak in front of goal.

He has scored 13 goals across all competitions this season.

Maguire and Wan-Bissaka returning to fitness is a huge defensive boost for Ten Hag, who was forced to play Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof at the back against Everton last weekend.

Man United's only chance of silverware this season is the FA Cup, having been knocked out of Europe entirely following their dismal Champions League campaign.
