Ten Hag already has his Sancho replacement.

Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri has already shown Erik ten Hag why he can replace Jadon Sancho at Old Trafford.

Sancho's future at the club looks in doubt after he publicly contradicted Ten Hag's comments after United's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal last weekend.

Ten Hag claimed the England international was not selected in the matchday squad due to sub-par training performances, but Sancho disputed those comments in a statement on social media.

Sides from the Saudi Pro League and Turkish Super Lig have reportedly enquired over signing the winger, but as of now, he remains a United player.

Meanwhile, United stated on Sunday that Antony's return to the club after the international break will be delayed in order to address domestic violence allegations made against him by his ex-girlfriend, which he denies. Police in England and Brazil are currently investigating the allegations.

If both players are unavailable for United's next game against Brighton on September 16, Ten Hag will need to source a replacement.

And he may have to look no further than Pellistri, with the Uruguay international winger despite for a chance to impress at Old Trafford.

So much so, he has already shown Ten Hag why he needs to be given a chance.

In March, while speaking to United's official website, Ten Hag explained: "He [Pellistri] is the example by deserving his position by performance on the training [pitch].

"And I said the other day, I did not select him for Liverpool and it was not even totally justified because he was training that well.

"Now this was his moment to come on because of a longer period he performed in training. What impressed me was he came on and, straight [away], showed himself."

Pellistri has yet to make his first Premier League start for United, but has been a regular member of their matchday squad this season.

And with fellow right-sided attacker Amad Diallo still recovering from a knee injury suffered in pre-season, this could very well be the Uruguayan's chance to impress his manager.
