He has responded to the claim.

Erik ten Hag has responded to the claim Marcus Rashford snubbed the Manchester United fans after the club’s defeat to West Ham.

United fell to their eighth Premier League defeat of the season at the London Stadium, losing 2-0 to West Ham.

The result sees the Hammer move up to sixth place while United fall to eighth in the Premier League, having won just one of their last five Premier League games and failed to score in over six hours of football.

Moreover, United have now fallen to 13 defeats in all competitions this season. The last time they lost more matches before Christmas was back in the 1930/31 campaign (16), a season when they ultimately finished bottom of the league.

Rashford is among several players struggling for form at United and started the West Ham game on the bench, before coming on 12 minutes into the second half.

But against West Ham the England international had just one shot on goal while he ended the game with just three touches in the opposition box.

It has now been five games since Rashford last scored a Premier League goal while he has only scored twice all season. For context, the 26-year-old scored 30 times across all competitions last season.

Frustration may have gotten to Rashford after the game, with it having been widely claimed on social media that the player went down the tunnel without acknowledging the away support.

When asked about the above claim, however, Ten Hag said, according to the Manchester Evening News: “I haven't seen it. I'm not sure if that happened.”

United have now been dealt more defeats this season than in all of the 62 competitive games from last term.

While admitting his side is underperforming Ten Hag called on his squad to stick together.

Ten Hag told Sky Sports: "In 2023, we won a cup, we played the FA Cup final, we were third in the league. There were highlights but we are over-performing, but at this moment we are underperforming.

"There are reasons for it, we have many injuries, so the team will be better if the injured ones return. We have to be calm, stick together, stick to the plan, we have to do it together."

Next, United host the in-form Aston Villa on Boxing Day before travelling to Nottingham Forest on December 30.
