Sir Alex Ferguson has made a rare media appearance to send former Manchester United striker Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez a personal message following his latest move.
It was confirmed this week that Hernandez, 35, will join boyhood club Chivas until the end of 2024.
Hernandez, who previously spent three years in Major League Soccer with LA Galaxy, has been a free agent since November but the experienced forward will embark on a new challenge in the coming weeks.

"We are convinced that his love for the Institution, the experience acquired during his successful career and the leadership that characterizes him will be reflected in this new stage with Chivas," the club wrote in a statement.
Following his return to the Estadio Akron, Hernandez's former manager Sir Alex Ferguson voiced his admiration for the Mexican in a classy video message.
Speaking directly to Hernandez, the Scot said: "Chicharito, it’s your old boss here. First of all I want to congratulate you on your return to your old club, back to Mexico where it all started where I found you, signed you and you were a great, fantastic player for us.
"You’ve had a great career and I think now you’ve an opportunity at your old club to add your experience and give your experience to all the players there.

"So regards to your family, have a great family and more goals to come."
Hernandez, who lifted two Premier League titles during his five-year stint at Old Trafford, scored 59 goals in 157 appearances for Manchester United.

In an interview with the club's official website in 2021, he opened up about his affection for the club that signed him from Liga MX side Guadalajara for a reported £8 million.
“Manchester United is always going to be my team," he said.
"I’m very grateful for Real Madrid, Sevilla, Bayer Leverkusen, West Ham, all of them. I love them [my former teams], I still love them and I’m going to be grateful forever but honestly, I feel it that you’re once a Red, always a Red.
“What I experienced, what I lived, I can say that I was the only Mexican under Sir Alex Ferguson, I scored the last goal under him, I am the only Mexican who has won [the Premier League] so far."
He added: “I hope more Mexican players can be in a United shirt, I will love it. But I am the only Mexican who has won the Premier League and then twice and it was the 19[th] and 20[th titles].

“They then helped me to live another opportunity like play for Real Madrid and then go to Germany. Everything was because of those four years in my career.”
Hernandez could feature for Chivas when they come up against Club Tijuana on Saturday.
