"More gifts..." - Italian journalist drops exciting transfer update for Man Utd supporters

Hojlund and Amrabat have been heavily rumoured with moves to Old Trafford.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has given Manchester United fans hope over the signings of Rasmus Hojlund and Sofyan Amrabat.

Erik ten Hag has already signed Mason Mount and Andre Onana this summer for a combined fee of £107 million, but the United boss isn't finished there.

The Red Devils are keen to add an elite striker to their ranks and have identified Atalanta forward Hojlund as their priority target. Meanwhile, Fiorentina midfielder Amrabat has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.

And in a major boost for supporters, journalist Pedulla has suggested at least one player will join the Premier League giants before the transfer window slams shut, warning fans to 'be patient'.

Man Utd fans can expect "more gifts"

Taking to Twitter at three minutes to midnight on Wednesday, Pedulla posted: "Friends of Manchester United, more gifts are coming from Italy: be patient and have a good night."

Althought Pedulla did not name either Hojlund or Amrabat, or any player for that matter, one would assume they are the 'gifts' he was referring to.

United submitted their opening bid for Hojlund earlier on Wednesday, with the English club offering a total package worth €60m (£51m) - with €10m (£8.5m) to be paid in add-ons.

On Thursday, Paris Saint-Germain launched their own bid for the 20-year-old striker worth €50m (£43m).

Although both offers are unlikely to be accepted, with the Daily Mail claiming Atalanta have stuck a €100m (£86m) price tag on their prized asset.

Hojlund recently added fuel to speculation that he was joining United after he liked one of Manchester United's Instagram posts on Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are said to be closing in on a deal for Amrabat.

Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed United and Fiorentina are close to agreeing a £21.4million deal for the 26-year-old, adding that Amrabat is keen to join Ten Hag's side.

However, at least one current midfielder may need to depart if the Morocco international is to sign for United this summer.
