Mario Balotelli escaped unharmed from the car crash.

Former Premier League star Mario Balotelli was involved in an accident that left his car completely damaged in Italy.

The crash occurred in the player's hometown of Orzinuovi, in Brescia, around 8.30pm, according to Italian outlet Fatto Quotidiano.

The 33-year-old, who signed for Turkish side Adana Demirspor last September, was back home as he recovers from an injury.

Per the report, Balotelli lost control of his Audi Q8 and crashed into a wall. The airbags went off following the collision.

The former Manchester City and Liverpool man was attended to by paramedics at the scene of the crash.

Fortunately, he escaped unharmed and without any serious injuries following the scary crash.

Further reports claim local police attempted to give the forward a breathalyser test following the incident.

However, he failed to cooperate, refusing to test his breath which led to police confiscating his driving license, according to Sky Sports Italia.

His brother Enock Barwuah turned up to the scene of the crash and took him home.

Balotelli returned to Adana Demirspor in September, having enjoyed a stint earlier in his career where he scored 19 goals in 35 games.

He signed a one-year deal with the club and has scored three goals in five matches this season.

Despite playing away from Italy, he still harbours ambitions of representing his national team following their Euro 2024 qualification.

"If I'm well, I still consider myself the strongest," he said.

"Did [Giacomo] Raspadori and [Gianluca] Scamacca play [against Ukraine]? How many shots did they take combined? Two?

"I want to recover and play for the national team. I always hope for the call.

"I met Spalletti and I've met him several times. We made some jokes when we met in a friendly with Napoli, but I have no relationship."
