The list of 100 best players in world football picked by Reddit users in 2017 has proved to be very accurate.
Football fans around the globe always love to predict which players will become the next big thing in the world of football.
On many occasions, predictions are often wrong when looking back at them a few years down the line.

However, having looked at the list of the top 100 youth players picked by Reddit users back in 2017, there were some very good shouts.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it was Kylian Mbappe who came out on top as the top-ranked youngster. Back then, the 18-year-old was already playing for Paris Saint Germain and was always destined for the top.
Following the Frenchman is Gianluigi Donarumma, the Italian goalkeeper is now the no.1 at PSG having won the Euros with his country.

In third place was Marco Asensio, who ended up winning three Champions Leagues with Real Madrid before moving to PSG this summer.
The likes of Marcus Rashford, Phil Foden, Trent Alexander Arnold, Martin Odegaard and Vinicius Jr were all selected in the list and all of them have gone on to be successful at their respective clubs.
However, there were also some picks that did not turn out to be clever.

For example, former Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn was ranked 26th. Despite being the club’s youngest-ever goal scorer back in 2016, he has failed to break through to the first time and was playing for Preston North End last season.
Some of the players who perhaps didn’t live up to the hype include the likes of Youri Tielemans, Kasper Dolberg, Ryan Sessegnon, Moussa Dembele and Harry Winks.
