West Ham fans demand Said Benrahma 'never plays for the club again' after petulant tackle in Bristol City defeat

West Ham fans demand Said Benrahma 'never plays for the club again' after petulant tackle in Bristol City defeat

Said Benrahma was sent off following his tackle on Joe Williams.

West Ham United fans are furious with Said Benrahma following his inexplicable challenge on Joe Williams against Bristol City.

The Hammers were dumped out of the FA Cup as Bristol City ran out 1-0 winners at Ashton Gate on Tuesday.

Tommy Conway, who sent the travelling fans berserk at the London Stadium, scored the only goal of the game in the third minute.

Six minutes after the break, the visitors were reduced to 10 men when Benrahma was sent off for kicking out at Williams.

The Bristol City midfielder landed a crunching tackle on the Algerian star, who reacted in a petulant manner.

Despite VAR not in use, match referee Darren England saw the incident and brandished a red card.

His kick out at Williams angered West Ham fans on social media as they demand that he 'never plays for the club again'.

One X user wrote: "Said Benrahma should never play for this club again Absolutely disgraceful."

A second tweeted: "Quite possibly Said Benrahma’s final act as a West Ham player,"

A third added: "Benrahma is an absolute disgrace. Hasn't cared about West Ham all season. Wouldn't even put him on the pitch."

A fourth fumed: "Benrahma you moron, shouldn’t play again ffs."

Another said: "Said Benrahma probably the first ever West Ham player I’ve had genuine hate for."

That could be Benrahma's last act in a West Ham shirt as he's been strongly linked with a move away from the club this month.

A loan move to Marseille has been rejected, with Brentford thought to be interested in signing their former player.

Wolves and Lyon are also keeping tabs on the 28-year-old.

Bristol City, meanwhile, will take on either Nottingham Forest or Blackpool in the next round of the FA Cup.
