Vinicius Jr in furious bust-up with ex-Man City star during Brazil's fiery draw with Spain

The Brazilian star endured a frustrating evening.

Vinicius Jr was involved in a furious altercation with a former Manchester City star during Brazil's fiery draw with Spain.

International friendlies are often tame affairs, but that certainly wasn't the case when Spain hosted Brazil in Madrid on Tuesday evening.

The two giants played out a pulsating 3-3 draw at the Bernabeu, although the drama went far beyond three penalties and a 96th minute Brazil equaliser.

All eyes were on Brazil star Vinicius Jr, not just because of his exceptional talent but because of his comments in the build up to the match.

The Real Madrid attacker broke down in tears during a pre-match press conference as he discussed the impact racist abuse has had on him and his career.

Vinicius - who has been subjected to racist abuse on several occasions since moving to Spain in 2018 - admitted that he feels "less and less like playing" due to continued abuse.

Last season there were 10 such incidents against the 23-year-old reported to prosecutors by La Liga.

Vinicius endured a frustrating evening against Spain, with club-mate Dani Carvajal limiting his impact on proceedings.

The star was withdrawn after 71 minutes, but not before he picked a fight with former Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte.

As Brazil prepared to take a corner, Vinicius walked up to Laporte and shoved him in the back unprovoked.

Laporte responded on X, quote retweeting footage of the incident with: "Maybe he just wanted to dance…?"

The video Laporte commented on was shared by an account that appeared to question Vinicius' claim the previous day that he 'just wants to play football'.

Vinicius was involved in a verbal altercation with Spanish striker Alvaro Morata at full-time, with security staff forced to separate the two players and members of both benches.

After the match, Laporte's former City teammate Rodri told MD: "I didn’t really get all the fights. We have a lot on the line at the end of the season, and ultimately, you have to try and avoid injuries."
