Wrexham are targeting an ambitious move as they look to secure back-to-back promotions.
Phil Parkinson's side are playing in the Football League for the first time since 2008 after winning the National League title last term.
But they are flying high in third place, five points off League Two leaders Stockport County after playing 24 games thus far.
Wrexham currently occupy the final automatic promotion spot but co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are set to dip into the transfer market to guarantee League One football next season.

Alan Nixon from The Sun says Wrexham are keen on Peterborough striker Jonson Clarke-Harris, who is playing a league above them.
The London Road outfit are third in League One and only four points off leaders Portsmouth.
However, they are expected to cash in on the 29-year-old and there are a number of interested parties.

Charlton and Bristol Rovers, both playing in the third tier, are admirers of Clarke-Harris, who scored 29 times last season.
He's found the net on ten occasions this term and Wrexham are hopeful they can convince him to drop down a league and lead the line.
Their current striking options include last season's top scorer Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer and summer signing Steven Fletcher.
Clarke-Harris came through the ranks at Coventry before turning out for Peterborough.

Following spells at Oldham Athletic and Rotherham United, he would later return to Coventry and then bagged 24 goals in 42 games for Bristol Rovers.
That prompted Peterborough to bring him back to the club in 2020 for £1.4 million and he's scored 84 goals in 171 games.
He was poised to rejoin Rovers on deadline day for a fee of £800,000 but the paperwork was not completed in time and the deal collapsed at the death.
