Every Premier League team's most valuable player has been worked out and it feature's a few surprises.

The Premier League is nearing the halfway point and CIES Football Observatory have ranked each club's best player so far.

The results are based on six specific areas: rigour, recovery, distribution, take-ons, chance creation and shooting.

Aston Villa - Jack Grealish

Bournemouth - Nathan Ake

Brighton & Hove Albion - Pascal Gross

Burnley - Dwight McNeil

Chelsea - Jorginho

Crystal Palace - Martin Kelly

Everton - Richarlison

Leicester City - Jamie Vardy

Liverpool - Virgil van Dijk

Manchester City - Kevin de Bruyne

It's interesting to see Nicolas Pepe ranked as Arsenal's key man this season.

The Ivorian has been criticised by fans and pundits alike following his £72 million move from Lille this summer.

But it seems the winger has been getting a bad rap judging by the stats.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang would be an obvious choice after scoring 11 goals in a struggling Gunners side.

North London Rivals Tottenham also have a controversial pick with Heung-min Son.

Harry Kane can feel hard done by considering his influential goals throughout the season.

The rest of the top six is rather straightforward.

Italian midfielder Jorginho ranks as Chelsea's most important player after settling in to English football.

Virgil van Dijk is MVP for league leaders Liverpool, while Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne takes top spot.

Marcus Rashford is Manchester United's standout talent and it's not hard to see why.

The England international has netted 13 goals already this season and has developed into the focal point of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
