Back in 2016, Swansea City legend Lee Trundle scored an incredible double hat-trick for a Swansea City All Stars team, which included one of the most outrageous penalties of all time.

Wales Online reported on the former Swansea man's performance in a charity fixture against a Briton Ferry Llansawel over 35s team at the Old Road ground.

The match was played to raise money for Carolyn Gammon, a local woman who is suffering from breast cancer.

Trundle's All Stars team came out on top in an 11-4 victory, with the pièce de resistance coming in the form of an incredible penalty where the 45-year-old pretended to step down and tie his shoelaces as he struck the ball home.

Here's another angle:

The Liverpool-born forward celebrated his birthday on Sunday.

There was plenty of praise for the goal-getter in replies to a tweeted video of the goal, with @Salomon_Rando calling him a "lower-league Pele." Meanwhile, @PeterSimmoYNWA added: "I couldn't even get that much power in a proper penalty!"

Trundle is still hitting the back of the net with Welsh Division Two side Llanelli Town, and scored a seven-minute hat-trick for the club earlier this month.

The striker enjoyed a successful career in the Football League, and it was at Swansea where he was most prolific in front of goal, scoring 91 goals in 194 appearances.

He was named League One Player of the Year with the Swans in 2005/06 and won the Football League Trophy in the same season.

It was in England's third tier where Trundle was at his goalscoring best, scoring 40 goals in 81 appearances.

Aside from Swansea, the forward has also featured for Bristol City, Leeds United and Preston North End during his time in English football.

Trundle is still involved with Swansea, and serves as a club ambassador.

The south Wales side have made a poor start to the Championship season after amassing just 11 points from their 11 league games to date.

They return to action after the international break with a mouth-watering clash against local rivals, Cardiff City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

Swansea and Cardiff sit 19th and 20th in the table respectively, with only goal difference currently separating the two bitter rivals.
