A former Australian international footballer was the victim of a car hijacking attempt live on radio.
Ex-Matildas star Elissia Carnavas was speaking to SEN’s The Global Game when she suddenly began screaming mid-conversation.
After her deafening cries, the phone line then dropped out.
Radio host and football commentator Simon Hill was clearly chocked by what had just unfolded live on-air.

“I have no idea what’s gone on there. I really hope Elissia is OK,” Hill said.
“That’s a very scary moment that’s just happened live on air.
“I don’t know what to say. I heard screaming in the background, and that’s quite terrifying.”
Later on in the show, Hill cleared up what had just happened.

“Well that unfortunately was where we had to leave that interview with Elissia Carnavas,” Hill said.
“A quite extraordinary incident as hijackers tried to break into her car. You’ll be delighted to hear that Elissia got away from that situation and that she is thankfully OK.
“One of the most bizarre moments of my broadcasting career and one that was very, very scary indeed.
“However, it’s ended OK, Elissia is alright and we look forward to speaking to her on the show next week.”
SEN also released a statement confirming that "she is okay".

Nine News reporter Mia Glover shed some more light on where the carjacking took place, tweeting that it allegedly happened in Coorparoo in Brisbane.
Nine's Today Show also released the audio of the attack, warning viewers that they may find it 'distressing'.
Thankfully, Carnavas was unharmed.
