Former PSG star says he didn't have a relationship with Kylian Mbappe

Former PSG star says he didn't have a relationship with Kylian Mbappe

Mbappe's behaviour towards his teammates has been questioned recently, with a recent spat with Neymar reported, and this won't help.

Kylian Mbappe's supposed problems with Neymar have been well reported and now a former PSG player has explained he had no relationship with the forward.

Mbappe signed a new contract at PSG at the end of last season, rather than moving to Real Madrid, with claims that it gave him more power at the club.

And things haven't been going particularly smoothly for the World Cup winner since, especially when it comes to his connection to fellow forward Neymar.

Earlier in the season there was an argument over who should take a penalty for the Ligue 1 champions, with the pair reportedly having to be separated in the changing room.

Manager Christophe Galtier has claimed that there are no problems between the two, although whilst Neymar and Lionel Messi are happy to assist each other, Mbappe has no assists for the duo this season.

Fans thought it was telling that Neymar refused to answer a question about the France forward, when on Brazil duty, and now there's more questions about Mbappe.

Former PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes, who left the club for Juventus in the summer, has claimed that he had no relationship with the 23-year-old.

"I am not the one to talk about him. I had a connection with the ones I had a relationship with," Paredes told ESPN Argentina.

"But the ones I didn't have a relationship with, I can't tell you about them."

The issues between Neymar and Mbappe, if there are any of course, may stem from the Frenchman's new deal that kept him at the Parc des Princes.

According to reports at the time, one of the requests that the former Monaco star made when signing his new contract was that Neymar would be sold.

The former Barcelona player was reportedly available for transfer in the summer and was supposedly offered to Chelsea at one point.

That seemingly would have been a mistake, considering how well he's started this campaign, with the 30-year-old scoring eight and assisting seven goals in eight league appearances.

On his side, Mbappe has denied the accusations of a rift with his fellow forward, "This is the sixth year with Neymar,

"We have always had a relationship like this, based on respect, but sometimes with warmer and colder moments.

"It is the nature of our relationship. I have a lot of respect for the player that he is.

"When you have two players with such a strong character, you have moments like that, but always with respect and in the interest of PSG."
